Care

General

Please refer to your care label that will be located on all soft goods by a hang-tag or label sewn on the seam of your item. Rug care instructions can be found on the underside of your rug at time of delivery.
Always refer to your care label before attempting ANY cleaning. Treat spills and stains as soon as possible to make stain removal easier and minimize the risk of permanent damage.
Weave pieces are intended for interior use only unless stated as outdoor. Sun exposure for extended periods of time may cause fading and items should be rotated to minimize colour change and damage. Our advice is given in good faith and should not be considered a guarantee. If in any doubt, always consult a professional cleaning company.

Floor Rug Cleaning

It is best to vacuum your rug before any dirt is embedded, ideally twice a week in the first few months.
All Weave rugs are made from natural fibres that can result in shedding/pilling. This is a natural characteristic and the removal of any loose fibres can be rectified with regular vacuuming with a good quality vacuum cleaner with a flat head attachment to avoid agitating the fibres. The amount a rug sheds or pills can alter due to traffic, moving furniture, vacuuming or other mechanical agitation.
Due to changes in pile and weave direction shading may occur and is a natural characteristic of carpets and rugs.
Strands of fibre working their way to the surface of the rug is also a normal occurrence as the fibres settle. Trimming the strand is usually required every week for the first few months but should slow down in time. Never pull out threads as this can lead to holes appearing.
Sun exposure for extended periods of time may cause fading and items should be rotated to minimize colour change and damage.
We recommend that rugs are used with an underlay, this will help to prevent the risk of dye transfer to the under surface, rug movement and to help protect timber flooring.
For exact cleaning instructions for current range rugs please see detailed information here. See below for the updated wording on general rug cleaning;

Rugs

  • Treat spots and spills immediately with warm water and paper towel.
  • If stain persists – contact professional rug cleaner as soon as possible.
  • Do not scrub rugs as it may cause permanent pile damage.
  • Vacuum regularly with low suction power.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Regularly rotate your rug to ensure even wear.
  • Use professional rug cleaners only.
  • Shedding of fibres from new rugs is to be expected and will reduce with time.

Product and Colour Information

Each piece is custom made, meaning no two items will be the same. Irregularities in materials, fabrics or prints are characteristic of the manufacturing process, and are an integral part of the design. As such, there may be slight markings or variations in appearance (including in colour or finishing) which are technically unavoidable and/or intentional.

Our rugs are individually handmade and woven, as such size can alter by 3% from the dimensions ordered. We also make every effort to ensure there is minimal colour variation however some can be expected (5% is the standard for carpet colour variation). Minor variations may also occur due to the characteristics of being a artisan hand woven rug, these include weave thickness and alignment and should be considered a feature.

Please note all photography is intended as a visual representation only. Although care is taken to ensure images are not misrepresented, colours are not exact matches due to variance in printer standards and monitor calibration.
