Nestled amongst the treetops in her self-described “modern-day treehouse,” content creator and home lover Ash Owens of @ourlifeourhome_ brings an effortless blend of mid-century inspiration, clean lines, and nature-led colour to every corner of her space.
Ash invited us into her home to talk all things home, ritual, and style, and to see how she incorporates our Como linen cushions into her evolving palette of seasonal colour. How would you describe the aesthetic of your home, and how do the Como cushions fit into that look?
We love to describe our home as a modern day treehouse! We completed the build nearly two yeas ago and designed this home inspired by mid century architecture to fit perfectly amongst the scenery and large trees that surround it. We love a pop of colour but also clean, tidy, open spaces and the Como Cushions allow us to switch out and update the colour out each season while adding softness to our bedroom & living room decor!

Where do you find styling inspiration: online, travel, nature?
I am hugely inspired by the nature that we have the privilege of enjoying whether we are inside out outside the home. Our green kitchen was certainly inspired by what we can see out the window! I am also obsessed with pinterest and love how scrapbooky it feels!
What qualities do you look for when choosing textiles like cushions, throws or bedding?
It always has to be natural fibres, so cottons, linen or wool. There's nothing more chic and they last forever if you look after them!

Are there rituals or routines that help you feel grounded in your home?
Every morning no matter the weather I go outside with our dog Maggie without my phone, whether it's for 5 minutes or for an hour it definitely sets me up well mentally for the day ahead.

Are there any signature “Ash touches” that make a space feel complete to you?
Any shade of green and you'll know I had something to do with it! I also think you can never have enough books and candles, they add so much life and soul to a room!
