Monroe Blanket Stitch Jute Rugs

Handwoven from 100% jute, Monroe celebrates the natural variation and tactile character of plant-based fibres. Its low-profile construction creates a grounded, organic surface underfoot.

Jute is spun into thick, irregular yarns, and that irregularity is the appeal. No two sections of the weave are identical, so the surface carries the kind of variation a machine-made rug cannot reproduce. At 10mm it stays low and stable, hard-wearing enough for everyday rooms.

The blanket stitch border is what lifts Monroe above a plain jute rug. Worked in a tonal thread around the perimeter, it frames the weave and gives the rug a finished, deliberate edge, referencing the hand-finishing you would find on a wool blanket.

Jute is a dry fibre by nature, so Monroe suits indoor spaces and responds best to regular vacuuming rather than wet cleaning. A cotton backing adds stability.

Three colourways, flint, oat and biscuit, all sitting in the natural range where jute is strongest. Pairs easily with wool and linen.
